Not too many 20-something’s can say that they have worked with a Grammy Award winning artist and highly sought after producers.
Not too many 20-something’s can say that their musical ability is so unparallel that it deserves its own genre. Rosaly Pfeffer can.
At 21, she has literally created her own lane in the music industry with a sound so unique that fans are catching on and celebrated artists– such as bad girl M.I. A who featured Rosaly on her Vicki Leekx mixtape last year – are taking notice. Known as Island Beach Music (or IBM), Rosaly’s sound is an eclectic hybrid of Pop, R&B, dance and folklore. Her whimsical voice, feel-good lyrics and unique rap-singing style conjures up images of carefree sunny days, palm trees swaying in the breeze and cool summer-like vibes.
Originally from Cottonwood, Arizona, Rosaly grew up in the care of her grandmother, a poet , who was passionate about helping indigenous peoples. A global resident, she’s lived in various parts of the world including the jungles of Mexico, Hawaii and in the Midwest on a Native American reservation. The model, surfer, skateboarder and graffiti artist, who now calls Los Angeles home, uses her cultural experiences and love for creativity to inspire her music, fashion and art.
“I just want to motivate the world with my music,” says the songbird. “I want my music to make my fans and listeners happy.”
With her current track record, we’ve no doubt that Rosaly will soon check that goal off of her list of accomplishments as well.
